Process Technician (Plastics)

Location: Charlotte, NC, USA; onsite, 3rd shift Monday through Friday, 10:30pm–7:00am

What you will do

• Set up and operate sheet extrusion and injection molding equipment as the shift technical expert.
• Complete tooling changeovers and perform timely equipment startups and shutdowns.
• Adjust processes, troubleshoot equipment, and make minor mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Perform basic machine maintenance and periodic safety checks while resolving unsafe conditions.
• Monitor finished-goods quality with machine operators and quality technicians.
• Identify bottlenecks, document processes, and recommend equipment or work-method improvements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a plastics manufacturing environment.
• Technical background in plastics processing, tooling, equipment, materials, manufacturing, and quality.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of electrical systems and components.
• Ability to learn and operate production equipment with a complete understanding of the processes.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, prioritization, collaboration, and safety skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
