Process Technician (Injection Molding)

Location: Orion, Michigan, United States. Onsite, 2nd shift from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

What you will do

• Coordinate the setup of injection molding machines, molds, materials, and related processes with the shift foreman.
• Start up machines, diagnose process issues, and optimize complex injection molding operations using engineered and commodity resins.
• Verify cycle times, production counts, lineups, and production work releases.
• Provide expertise on molding materials, tooling, and support equipment while communicating manufacturing-floor issues.
• Promote quality production, maintain a safe and clean work environment, and follow manufacturing procedures.
• Supervise production employees on the shift in conjunction with the shift supervisor, including assigning work, training, performance management, and problem resolution.

Requirements

• One-year certificate from a college or technical school, or three to six months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination.
• Ability to read safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and schedules.
• Ability to write routine reports and communicate effectively with employees and customers.
• Basic algebra and geometry skills, including calculations involving proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, and schedule-based instructions.
• Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds and work around moving machinery, fumes, airborne particles, loud noise, heat, vibration, and electrical hazards.
