Outside Scheduler

Location: Norfolk, Virginia, United States; full-time, in-person office work

Compensation: $18.75–$22.16 per hour

What you will do

• Schedule physician referrals, outside testing, and laboratory appointments as directed by physicians.
• Obtain required insurance authorizations.
• Explain tests, preparation requirements, and appointment details to patients.
• Follow up on testing to confirm completion before patients' next physician visits.
• Research and respond to routine and non-routine inquiries professionally and promptly.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to work in an office environment, communicate with patients and the public, and perform prolonged computer-based work.

Nice to have

• Five years of medical office experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
