What you will do

  • Design and develop mechanical components and systems for aerospace and defense applications.
  • Conduct detailed engineering analyses and simulations to validate and optimize designs.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and procedures.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, reports, design specifications, and project updates.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate mechanical designs into complete systems.
  • Ensure designs meet performance, quality, industry, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering or a related role.
  • Understanding of mechanical design principles, engineering practices, CAD software, and Computer Aided Engineering tools.
  • Familiarity with multidisciplinary design and development teams.
  • U.S. citizenship is required because the position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods and travel occasionally when required.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience with CATIA/3DEXPERIENCE and GD&T according to ASME Y14.5.
  • Knowledge of parametric design, model-based definition, materials and hardware selection, manufacturing, production, and aircraft or space environmental requirements.
  • Experience providing technical guidance and handling engineering non-conformances.
  • Familiarity with FAA, NASA, or DoD design and construction regulations.
