Location: Onsite in Chicago, Illinois, United States; flexible scheduling is required for a 24-hour operation, including weekends and holidays.
Pay: USD $38.26–$40.76 per hour, with level and pay determined by experience and the collective bargaining agreement.

What you will do
- Perform terminal operations for liquid chemicals and petrochemicals transferred by barges, tank-to-tank systems, tank cars, and tank trucks.
- Take physical and side-gauge readings and perform heating functions for stored products and transport units.
- Perform rail switching, spill cleanup, housekeeping, and support environmental services and maintenance.
- Follow work orders, standard operating procedures, company standards, and applicable state and local regulations.
- Participate in safety programs, company training, testing, and other assigned operational duties.
- Work outdoors in extreme weather and handle stairs, ladders, heights over 40 feet, uneven surfaces, and loads up to 50 pounds while wearing required PPE.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Familiarity with pipe wrenches, box wrenches, and similar tools.
- Strong practical mathematics skills, including fractions, multiplication, and percentages.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, work with a team, take direction, and maintain dependable work performance.
- Flexible availability for rotating schedules in a 24-hour operation, including weekends and holidays.
- Valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record, and successful completion of a background check, physical examination, and drug screen.
Nice to have
- Experience handling hazardous liquid chemicals.
- Familiarity with OSHA, DOT, industrial hygiene, and related industry regulations.
- Experience as a terminal operator, gauger, or maintenance mechanic.
- Trade school, formal training, significant work experience, or an associate's degree.
