TL;DR
Refinery Operator (Petrochemical): Operating refinery process units, storage facilities, and marine docks with an accent on safe equipment operation, process qualification, and emergency response. Focus on preparing equipment for maintenance, monitoring process systems, completing operational records, and working rotating 12-hour shifts in a 24/7 refinery.

Location: Texas City, Texas, United States. Onsite refinery work on a 24/7 operation with a Dupont 12-hour rotating shift schedule. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

Starting pay: $37.81–$50.31 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and union contract wage rates.

What you will do

  • Operate process units, storage facilities, and marine dock operations safely and efficiently.
  • Attend and operate towers, pumps, pipelines, pressure vessels, control instruments, separators, furnaces, tanks, and related equipment.
  • Maintain operational records and complete required paperwork.
  • Prepare equipment for cleaning, mechanical repairs, alterations, and return to service.
  • Learn refining processes and qualify in process unit, hydrocarbon storage, or marine dock operations.
  • Participate in emergency response activities while using required protective equipment, including a self-contained breathing apparatus.

Requirements

  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • At least 18 years of age, with a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Three years of process operations experience in a petrochemical environment, or a two-year associate degree in Process Technology, or at least five years of industrial experience in petrochemical, refining, or marine dock operations.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs, lift up to 50 pounds, enter vessels, work at heights and in hard-to-reach areas, stand for extended periods, and work in changing weather conditions around machinery and pinch points.
  • Successful completion of a physical examination and respirator fit testing.
