Chemical Operations Technician

Location: Hollister, CA, United States. Onsite work in indoor and outdoor areas on a 10-hour day shift, four days per week, with overtime availability.

Pay range: $21.17–$39.29 per hour, plus eligibility for a quarterly performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Handle and process explosive powders, propellants, energetics, raw materials, and solvent wastes in accordance with safety and standard operating procedures.
• Break down dry and wet explosives into production, testing, and chemical-analysis increments, including leading bulk breakdown of designated explosive materials.
• Mix nitrocellulose lacquers, wash materials, screen energetics, and support powder-blending activities.
• Deliver materials to production lines and maintain inventory, magazine, oven, movement, and traceability records.
• Clean facilities, equipment, vehicles, tooling, and containers, and complete standard work, 5S, and foreign-object-debris control activities.
• Participate in process-hazard analysis and daily management meetings, update process documentation, and train Chemical Technician I staff.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship or other qualifying U.S. Person status is required for the position due to U.S. Government contractual and export-control requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read written instructions, complete accurate documentation, perform basic arithmetic, and manage multiple formulations.
• Must be able to wear a full-face respirator and pass a respirator fit test; beards are not permitted for this requirement.
• Ability to receive forklift training and certification, lift up to 55 lb, and stand, stoop, and walk intermittently while wearing personal protective equipment.
• Strict adherence to safety and standard operating procedures is required.

Nice to have

• Two or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Previous ordnance or energetics experience.
