Inorganics Manager (Environmental)

Location: Lenexa, Kansas, United States. Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. Work is performed in laboratory, office, and field settings; travel may be required.

What you will do

• Manage staff, including hiring, training, development, engagement, performance evaluation, and compensation recommendations.
• Oversee departmental schedules, services, results, resources, and operational programs.
• Guide the development and implementation of laboratory policies, procedures, strategies, and performance metrics.
• Lead operational, instrumentation, and equipment reviews while maintaining regulatory compliance.
• Resolve escalated technical, customer, and operational issues in coordination with internal teams and external partners.
• Manage departmental budgets, support special projects, and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, environmental science, or a closely related field, plus five years of relevant experience including leadership or supervisory responsibilities; an equivalent combination may be accepted.
• Advanced knowledge of laboratory, service, or field operations, including program development, policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
• Experience supervising, evaluating, developing, and training employees.
• Ability to manage complex operational areas, budgets, projects, reporting, presentations, and professional documentation.
• Ability to work in laboratory, office, and field environments and handle standard office and laboratory equipment.
• Three years of supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
