Project Surveyor

Location: Point Pleasant, West Virginia, United States; travel may be required to subsequent projects across the United States. Work is primarily performed on active highway, roadway, and heavy civil construction sites, with additional office-based work.

What you will do

• Lead field layout, survey data collection, and machine control support for highway heavy construction projects.
• Interpret plans, specifications, and digital models to lay out grades, alignments, elevations, and offsets.
• Operate and maintain jobsite survey equipment and support Trimble-based grading systems.
• Perform earthwork quantity takeoffs and collect accurate as-built data for payment quantities, compliance reporting, and final records.
• Maintain survey files, field notes, calibration records, and project documentation.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, inspectors, owners, and design partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, Surveying, or Construction Management, or equivalent field experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in heavy highway construction.
• Strong knowledge of surveying fundamentals and experience with Trimble civil construction equipment and software.
• Competence with Microsoft 365, Bluebeam, and office survey workflows using Trimble Business Center or Civil 3D.
• FAA Part 107 license and familiarity with drone survey workflows, or the ability to obtain the license and learn the workflows quickly.
• Valid driver’s license, strong communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.

Nice to have

• RPLS or CST III/IV license, or equivalent field experience.
