Land Surveyor

Location: Columbia, South Carolina, United States

Salary: $55,709–$63,305 per year

What you will do

• Lead survey tasks across multiple projects from scope development and fee preparation through delivery.
• Review survey data, site plans, charts, plats, maps, records, and related documents for accuracy.
• Sign and seal survey documents and develop procedures, systems, and methods for project delivery.
• Supervise construction verification surveys for state highway and bridge construction projects.
• Mentor survey staff and provide quality assurance and quality control.
• Lead project teams while maintaining schedules, budgets, accuracy, and client satisfaction.

Requirements

• At least four years of relevant surveying experience.
• Professional Land Surveyor registration in South Carolina is required.
• Strong knowledge of boundary analysis and resolution, topographic surveys, and construction surveys.
• Experience working with municipalities, counties, SCDOT, or private developers.
• Strong organizational, written, verbal, leadership, and project management skills.
• Valid driver's license required.

Nice to have

• Registration in multiple states.
• Level B SUE and utility test hole experience.
• Transportation alternative delivery experience.
• Remote Pilot Certification, LiDAR, or traditional photogrammetry experience.
• Experience with SCDOT's Pre-Construction Survey Manual, NCDOT, or GDOT.
