Location: Gainesville, Georgia, United States; onsite manufacturing environment

What you will do

  • Support automation and process control operations at 24/7 production plants.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and design SCADA and PLC programs.
  • Assist with automation supplier projects, including equipment specification, factory acceptance testing, installation, commissioning, and debugging.
  • Troubleshoot production issues with the Maintenance Department and modify PLC programs to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Work with Engineering and management to develop and enhance manufacturing methods.
  • Perform electrical work such as wiring and electrical component installation, while maintaining software backups and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience developing and implementing automation processes and equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong electrical knowledge and hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, robots, motion controls, and related programming software.
  • Knowledge of PC-based controllers, embedded and real-time operating systems, PID and servo control, linear motors, robot and stepper motor controllers, data acquisition, and vision systems.
  • Experience with power distribution and low- and high-voltage wiring through board-level design.
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, and lift for extended periods and regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Associate or technical degree preferred.
