Control Engineer (Automation)

Location: Latrobe, Pennsylvania, United States; onsite, full-time

What you will do

• Design, configure, standardize, and optimize control systems for manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Analyze operational data and implement solutions that improve control-system efficiency, throughput, and cost performance.
• Provide technical support, collaborate with maintenance to resolve breakdowns, and mentor team members.
• Define system requirements and act as a liaison between end users, system developers, and OEMs.
• Develop and execute automation projects, including installation, testing, and commissioning of control systems.
• Manage project costs, schedules, budgets, business cases, safety compliance, and quality standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in controls and automation.
• Experience with HMI development.
• Ability to provide technical support, solve equipment problems, and manage control-system projects.

Nice to have

• Experience in steel automation.
• PLC programming knowledge, including Rockwell and Siemens controllers.
• Familiarity with Aveva InTouch, AC and DC drives, EtherNet/IP, Industrial Ethernet, Profibus, and CAN networks.
• Knowledge of automated equipment, robotics, material handling, lean principles, and engineering software.
