Electrical Engineer - Project (Automotive)

Location: Neenah, Wisconsin, United States; routine shift hours with infrequent overtime, weekend work, or shift rotation.

Salary: $82,900–$134,300 annually across U.S. locations.

Pierce Manufacturing, an Oshkosh company, designs and builds customized heavy-duty fire and emergency vehicles, including pumpers, aerials, tankers, and rescue units.

What you will do

• Lead and manage a team of engineers, designers, and technicians.
• Plan, coordinate, and deliver projects of moderate complexity on schedule and within budget.
• Perform complex electrical engineering analysis, calculations, design, validation, and troubleshooting for heavy-duty vehicle systems.
• Provide electrical expertise for prototype, pilot, and production builds, including manufacturing problem resolution.
• Design and select electrical components based on function, cost, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with internal disciplines, suppliers, customers, and leadership while presenting and defending technical decisions.

Requirements

• Accredited bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
• Five or more years of related experience.
• Experience with complex engineering calculations, analysis, investigations, and technical reporting.
• Ability to provide team coaching, mentorship, resource allocation, and performance feedback.
• Ability to interpret technical procedures, safety rules, engineering standards, business documents, and regulations.
• Regular attendance and ability to perform frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, visual, communication, and analytical work.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience with programming languages and controls software.
• Experience with Controller Area Network (CAN), SAE J1939, or vehicle networking.
• Electrical troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, corrective action, and wire harness design experience.
• Process improvement experience.
