Project Engineer (Electrification)

Pay range: $91,500–$148,100 per year; the range applies across U.S. locations.

What you will do

• Lead and coordinate an engineering team of engineers, designers, and technicians.
• Plan project activities, manage priorities, and deliver projects of moderate complexity on schedule and within budget.
• Perform high-level analysis, design, redesign, validation, troubleshooting, and reporting for complex high-voltage electrical and electronic systems on heavy-duty vehicles.
• Provide technical expertise for prototype, pilot, and production builds, including resolving manufacturing issues.
• Select and design electrical components based on function, cost, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with internal engineering and business functions, suppliers, external customers, and industry organizations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• Five or more years of related engineering experience.
• Experience with complex electrical systems, engineering calculations, analysis, investigation, and validation.
• Ability to coach and mentor engineers, make significant technical decisions, and present engineering decisions to leadership and customers.
• Regular attendance and availability for routine shift hours, with occasional overtime, weekend work, or shift rotation.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Familiarity with programming languages and controls software.
• Familiarity with Controller Area Network (CAN) and SAE J1939.
• Automotive high-voltage training or certifications.
• Power electronics, machines integration, or energy storage system integration design experience.
