Opto-mechanical Assembly Technician

What you will do

• Build and validate precision opto-mechanical assemblies following strict procedures.
• Operate standardized tools including torque wrenches and pneumatic equipment.
• Perform in-process quality inspections and document results in company databases.
• Collaborate with engineers to support special builds and experiments.
• Maintain cleanroom standards and prepare finished assemblies for shipment.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and procedural enhancements.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to work onsite in San Diego, CA.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Experience with electronic, pneumatic, and hand tools.
• Willingness to work in a cleanroom environment wearing required PPE.
• Ability to occasionally lift, pull, or push up to 35 pounds.

Nice to have

• Six years of assembly experience.
• Experience with precision optical components or ESD protocols.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles.
• Experience with environmental testing.
