Entry-Level Substation Designer (Electrical Engineering)

What you will do

• Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, analyses, reports, and designs for low-, medium-, and high-voltage electrical substations.
• Develop design sketches, redline drawings, one-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA schemes, and communications plans.
• Create substation physical layouts, material lists, grounding designs, and AC/DC system calculations.
• Size and route conduits and cables in accordance with design standards, safety codes, and project specifications.
• Collaborate with designers, CADD technicians, project managers, and project engineers.
• Perform site visits during the design, construction, and as-built phases.

Requirements

• Entry-level engineering profile with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Experience using AutoCAD; experience with MicroStation is preferred.
• Strong written and confident verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team, take initiative, and learn independently.
• EIT certification or the ability to pass the FE Exam within six months is strongly preferred; obtaining EIT certification is expected for career progression if hired without it.
• Local candidates are preferred, and the role includes site visits.
