Pursuits & Preconstruction Manager (Heavy Civil)

Location: Charlotte, NC, United States; work includes office and active construction site environments, with travel to client meetings, project sites, and regional offices.

What you will do

• Lead go/no-go evaluations, opportunity qualification, pursuit strategies, proposal development, interviews, presentations, and client engagement.
• Manage pursuit schedules, deliverables, performance metrics, and lessons learned.
• Lead preconstruction for design-build, CM/GC, progressive design-build, and negotiated projects.
• Coordinate conceptual estimating, budgeting, scheduling, constructability reviews, value engineering, and design development.
• Review pricing, procurement plans, subcontractor engagement, market analysis, and project risk mitigation.
• Lead and mentor pursuit, estimating, and preconstruction professionals while coordinating with business development, engineering, and operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in heavy civil construction, estimating, project management, business development, preconstruction, or pursuit management.
• Experience leading complex proposals and pursuits for public and private infrastructure projects.
• Experience with transportation, bridges, water resources, earthwork, utilities, or mining projects.
• Strong knowledge of estimating, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and alternative delivery methods.
• Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, negotiation, organizational, and strategic planning skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction software.
