Preconstruction Manager (Heavy Civil Construction)

Location: Reston, VA, United States; travel may exceed 50% depending on the assignment and project requirements.

Expected salary range: $154,000–$212,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Direct and manage all phases of alternative and collaborative delivery projects.
• Support business development, teaming, pursuits, and proposals.
• Manage active contracts and design coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide leadership and project management guidance for design-build pursuits and project delivery.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, general contractors, and subcontractors.
• Coordinate internal teams and external partners while making timely, informed decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, plus 6+ years of construction management experience, or an equivalent combination.
• Heavy civil construction experience, including underground utilities, foundations, mass grading, and finish grading.
• Experience with alternative delivery methods, including design-build and EPC.
• Experience in key project leadership roles and client management during pursuits and project delivery.
• Knowledge of win strategies, pricing, scheduling, estimating, and project controls software.
• Technical writing skills and a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
