Assistant Manager - Plant (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Coordinate daily industrial, specialty, and medical gas distribution and filling operations.
• Guide a team of associates working across plant operations, quality assurance laboratory activities, and driving functions.
• Coordinate production schedules, staffing needs, inventory levels, time records, and compliance documentation.
• Promote safety and compliance across FDA, DOT, OSHA, EPA, SAFECORE, and related requirements.
• Improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and working conditions.
• Support hiring, onboarding, cross-training, performance actions, and capital investment planning with the Plant Manager.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
• Strong analytical, communication, organization, and teamwork skills, with the ability to use metrics to improve production efficiency.
• Ability to complete handwritten compliance documentation accurately and perform calculations using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, rates, ratios, and percentages.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in seasonal conditions, handle loud noises and odors, remain stationary for extended periods, and move materials up to 60 pounds independently or more than 125 pounds with equipment.

Nice to have

• Technical experience with compressed gases, gas analysis, and gas laboratory equipment.
• Experience using SAP.
