Project Engineer - Civil & Heavy Highway Construction

Location: Point Pleasant, West Virginia, United States; work is primarily performed on active construction job sites, with travel between nationally based project sites potentially required.

What you will do

• Support planning, coordination, and execution of construction activities to meet project schedules and budgets.
• Design, review, and implement temporary works and construction means and methods with a strong focus on safety.
• Inspect installed work, equipment, and materials; identify issues and coordinate corrective actions.
• Provide on-site technical direction to foremen, crews, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
• Monitor progress and prepare daily reports, quantities, project documentation, cost tracking, and schedule updates.
• Perform quality control inspections and verify that materials and workmanship comply with plans, specifications, contract documents, and approved submittals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• At least one year of experience as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or in a similar heavy civil or highway construction role.
• Strong understanding of civil construction methods, equipment, and materials.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and job-site safety practices; PPE use is mandatory.
• Strong organizational, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work extended hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and occasional holidays, as required by project schedules.
