Team Lead - 1st Shift (Manufacturing)

Location: Bradenton, Florida, United States; onsite manufacturing role on 1st Shift

Company

Manufactures highly customized fire and rescue trucks, including pumpers, aerials, tankers, and rescue units, through Pierce Manufacturing, an Oshkosh company.

What you will do

• Motivate, assign work to, and lead Cab Department employees during 1st Shift.
• Monitor and adjust workflow, schedules, work priorities, and material availability.
• Perform product inspections and evaluate quality before products leave the department.
• Perform inventory checks and communicate material shortages to planners and relevant personnel.
• Complete manufacturing paperwork and handle employee concerns.
• Lead by example through hands-on departmental work while maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• At least one year of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated experience performing departmental tasks and the ability to perform most tasks in the department.
• Effective interpersonal communication skills and professional interaction with customers and customer representatives.
• Regular attendance is required; applicants must not have three or more attendance points within the past 12 months.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, perform bending, climbing, pushing, and pulling motions, and lift at least 35 lbs individually.

Nice to have

• Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles, including value streams, 5S, the Seven General Types of Waste, and project planning.
