Stationary Equipment Technician

What you will do

• Repair and maintain recycling equipment, compact heavy equipment, light trucks, and rolling stock.
• Diagnose mechanical problems using charts, diagnostic software, technical manuals, and technical expertise.
• Maintain and repair hydraulic systems, industrial electrical systems, 480V balers, conveyor systems, and compactors.
• Replace conveyor belts, electrical motors, hydraulic cylinders, pistons, rods, gears, valves, bearings, and other components.
• Document repairs, parts usage, work-order time, consumables, fuel, and oil usage in fleet management systems.
• Follow safety procedures and communicate equipment issues and preventive techniques to supervisors, operators, and drivers.

Requirements

• At least one year of related equipment maintenance and repair experience or a trade school certification.
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot PLCs and solve practical equipment problems.
• Ability to work with conveyors and recycling or compact heavy equipment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to follow safety policies and procedures.

Nice to have

• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Mechanical or trade school certificate.
