Export Compliance Manager (Aerospace & Defense): Leading site-wide export compliance activities for aerospace and defense products with an accent on ITAR, EAR, OFAC, licensing, classification, and regulatory controls. Focus on reviewing engineering changes, releasing export holds, conducting audits, managing incidents, and ensuring compliant order processing for U.S. export regulations.

Location: Chandler, Arizona, United States. On-site role in a manufacturing environment; occasional manufacturing-floor visits and travel may be required. Only U.S. persons may be considered due to ITAR Empowered Official requirements.

Crane Aerospace & Electronics supplies critical systems and components for aerospace and defense markets, including engines, landing gear, satellites, missiles, and unmanned aerial systems.

What you will do

  • Lead and administer export compliance activities for the assigned site.
  • Provide regulatory guidance and deliver export compliance training to engineering, quality, operations, sales, contracts, HR, shipping, and supply chain teams.
  • Review engineering change orders and product modifications for jurisdiction, classification, and licensing impacts.
  • Review and release export holds, conduct restricted-party screenings, verify end users, and validate export data for compliant shipments.
  • Prepare and monitor export license applications, regulatory filings, system access controls, and compliance records.
  • Conduct internal audits, investigate potential incidents, coordinate corrective actions with legal counsel, and support corporate compliance initiatives.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in export compliance or related regulatory functions involving ITAR, EAR, OFAC, or similar regulations.
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. export control regulations, licensing, classification, and jurisdiction determinations.
  • Experience with ECCN and USML classifications for parts, assemblies, technical data, software, or services.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, training, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and translate complex regulations into clear guidance.
  • BA/BS or equivalent experience required; only U.S. persons may be considered.

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree, such as an MBA or joint degree.
  • Export compliance experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Experience working with engineering teams on ECOs and design or configuration changes.
  • Recognized export compliance training or relevant professional certifications.
