Trade Consultant, Export Compliance

Location: Onsite office position in Romulus, Michigan, USA. The posting also lists a facility address in Hanahan, South Carolina. The initial schedule is 8 AM–5 PM, with a possible later 11 AM–8 PM schedule for West Coast coverage.

What you will do

• Perform ECCN, USML, Commodity Jurisdiction, and export license determinations.
• Prepare Commodity Classification Requests, License Applications in SNAP-R, policy manuals, opinion memos, and compliance documentation.
• Conduct export compliance risk assessments at client facilities, restricted-party screenings, EEI file audits, and AES data analysis.
• Prepare Trade Account Profile reports and support client export compliance projects.
• Deliver internal and external training and seminars as an export compliance subject matter expert.
• Support proposals, client sales and retention calls, billing summaries, recordkeeping, regulatory reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Strong interest in emerging technology and science across multiple domains.
• Customer service, interpersonal, verbal communication, and written documentation skills.
• Competence with Microsoft Office applications and comfort reviewing, analyzing, and manipulating data in Excel.
• Logical process analysis, investigative thinking, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to communicate professionally with internal and external customers.

Nice to have

• Experience with Power BI, Microsoft Access, or SharePoint.
