Category Manager

Location: Irving, Texas, United States; hybrid schedule with in-office attendance Tuesday through Thursday

What you will do

• Develop and implement category strategies focused on value, cost savings, quality, and supplier performance.
• Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and the competitive landscape.
• Lead the end-to-end sourcing process, including RFP preparation, supplier selection, and contract negotiations.
• Build and manage supplier relationships while monitoring quality, cost, and delivery performance.
• Collaborate with operations, finance, legal, and other internal stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with business needs.
• Drive long-term supplier partnerships and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in procurement, category management, or strategic sourcing.
• Strong understanding of category management principles, procurement processes, RFP drafting, and best practices.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience managing high-value contracts, supplier relationships, cross-functional teams, and strategic sourcing initiatives.
• Proficiency in procurement software and tools, with strong project management skills and a commitment to ethical procurement practices.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Experience with source-to-pay platforms such as Coupa.
