Sr. Data Scientist - Pricing Algorithms (Automotive)

Location: Richmond, Virginia, United States; onsite 4 days per week at the hirify.global Home Office

Annual salary: $106,000–$159,000, with possible bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Develop new predictive models and improve existing pricing algorithms.
• Interpret, validate, and apply feature engineering to large, complex pricing datasets.
• Incorporate new data sources and insights using statistical and machine learning techniques.
• Design controlled experiments to evaluate the business value of new models.
• Partner with analysts and systems experts to support effective model deployment.
• Research data science innovations and communicate model insights and recommendations to senior leaders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline, or equivalent employment-based experience and training.
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience, including applying foundational mathematics or modeling skills to complex problems; advanced quantitative study may substitute for work experience.
• Strong analytical reasoning, attention to detail, curiosity, skepticism, creativity, and commitment to continued learning.
• Experience extracting and sharing clear insights from modeling, collaborating with others, and building professional relationships.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with supervised and unsupervised modeling, classification, regression, and other modeling techniques.
• Python and SQL programming.
• Data cleaning, preprocessing, statistical analysis, and probabilistic analysis.
• End-to-end experience with a machine learning deployment pipeline and project management.
