Data Scientist (AI/ML)

Location: Dearborn, Michigan, United States; hybrid with onsite work required four or more days per week

What you will do

• Translate vehicle sensor data into metrics and insights that support engineering decisions.
• Ingest, transform, and analyze large datasets for data products on hirify.global’s Enterprise Data Platform using Google Cloud Platform.
• Translate engineering and business problems into scalable AI/ML solutions.
• Design and implement end-to-end AI/ML pipelines covering ingestion, preprocessing, training, evaluation, and deployment.
• Analyze regression issues and test failures, identify root causes, quantify impact, and recommend fixes.
• Monitor data quality and integrity, investigating anomalies that could affect engineering insights.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, data science, computer science, machine learning, statistics, or a related quantitative field, or a relevant master’s degree with at least two years of research experience.
• At least three years of AI/ML experience, including developing and deploying production machine learning models.
• At least two years of production-scale Google Cloud Platform experience with data engineering services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, or Cloud Composer.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python for data analysis and manipulation.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is available.

• Strong expertise in data engineering.
• Battery engineering and electric vehicle charging experience.
• Publications or presentations in recognized journals or conferences.
• Experience in fast-paced automotive or hardware development environments.
• Generative AI experience and knowledge of machine learning frameworks, algorithms, and practical implementation.
