Painter I - 2nd Shift

Location: Riceville, Iowa, United States; onsite, 2nd shift

Pay range: $20–$28.34 per hour

McNeilus, an hirify.global company, designs and manufactures refuse truck bodies, including rear-load, front-load, and automated side-load models.

What you will do

• Prime, paint, and touch up vehicles using electrostatic and air-assist spray equipment, power spray equipment, and brushes.
• Mix paints and chemicals to the required color, formula, viscosity, and consistency; flush tanks, hoses, and spray guns during color changeovers.
• Sand, wash, condition, and perform light bodywork on parts before painting.
• Inspect parts before, during, and after painting to verify quality and specifications.
• Clean, adjust, repair, and reassemble painting equipment and maintain the work area and equipment.
• Support onboarding and training for new team members and complete required hazardous-waste-handler training under EPA RCRA rules.

Requirements

• At least six months of industrial painting experience, completion of an internal paint training program, or an evaluated equivalent.
• Ability to read checklists, paint codes, safety logs, job safety analyses, standard work instructions, and related documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures, and government regulations.
• Ability to stand, walk, reach, climb occasionally, and lift or push up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work onsite in Riceville, Iowa, on the second shift.

Nice to have

• High school diploma or GED.
• Automotive paint experience.
• Willingness to train across multiple areas and progress toward Painter II.
• Ability to perform mill checks and readings, assist with paint preparation, and use fine-line painting techniques.
