Industrial Painter - 1st Shift (Automotive Coatings)

Location: Dodge Center, Minnesota, United States

Starting pay: $20.00–$28.34 per hour, based on experience.

Designer and manufacturer of refuse truck bodies, including rear-load, front-load, and automated side-load products.

What you will do

• Prime, paint, and touch up vehicles and parts using electrostatic and air-assist spray guns, brushes, and other automotive paint equipment.
• Mix paints and chemicals to meet color, formula, viscosity, and consistency requirements, including performing titrations and adjustments.
• Prepare surfaces by sanding, washing, conditioning parts, and performing light bodywork when needed.
• Inspect parts before, during, and after painting to verify quality and product specifications.
• Clean, repair, adjust, and reassemble painting equipment and perform preventive maintenance on the work area and equipment.
• Follow 6S and safety procedures and complete hazardous-waste-handler training and duties under EPA RCRA rules.

Requirements

• At least one year of applicable experience.
• Ability to read checklists, paint codes, safety logs, and job safety analyses.
• Ability to paint complete bodies or parts kits while meeting production targets.
• Ability to perform touch-up work, paint in at least 50% of the paint process, and train or cross-train team members.
• High school diploma or GED is not required.

• Willingness to train across multiple areas toward a Painter II level.
