Painter (Manufacturing)

Location: Butner, North Carolina, United States; regular in-person and on-site attendance required

JLG, an Oshkosh company, develops access equipment including mobile elevating work platforms, telehandlers, utility vehicles, and accessories for the construction and access industries.

What you will do

• Apply primer, paint, touch-up coatings, decals, stencils, and rust-proofing to JLG products.
• Prepare surfaces through sanding, washing, conditioning, masking, and light bodywork.
• Operate, clean, maintain, and troubleshoot spray-painting equipment, pumps, heaters, tanks, and guns.
• Mix paints for accurate color, viscosity, and consistency; flush tanks and lines during color changes.
• Perform titrations and chemical adjustments for paint-related processes.
• Inspect finishes using quality checks including mil thickness and gloss measurements, and move parts with tuggers, forklifts, overhead cranes, or carts.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of painting experience in automotive, industrial, or heavy-equipment settings.
• Strong math skills and basic mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to wear a respirator and pass a Pulmonary Function Test.
• Willingness to work overtime, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as production needs require.
• Reliable attendance and ability to work in person and on site in Butner, North Carolina.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive motions, and lift or carry up to 35 pounds.

Nice to have

• At least one year of painting experience in a manufacturing or body-shop environment.
• Ability to work independently and troubleshoot minor issues.
