Automotive Quality Engineer

Location: Eau Claire, Wisconsin, United States; onsite role with minimal local business-day travel. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship.

What you will do

• Establish and maintain quality controls for automotive accessories using data analysis and continuous improvement.
• Lead internal, process, layered process, certification, surveillance, customer, and OEM audits.
• Apply risk-based quality tools, including PFMEA, DFMEA, control plans, and process flow diagrams.
• Implement APQP and lead PPAP submissions and approvals for new product launches.
• Manage nonconformances, customer complaints, warranty issues, SCARs, containment, and corrective actions using 8D, root cause analysis, 5 Whys, and Fishbone methods.
• Interpret OEM customer-specific requirements, manage supplier quality portals and scorecards, and ensure documentation, labeling, traceability, and packaging compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field preferred.
• At least 3 years of automotive quality experience in an IATF 16949-certified environment.
• Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements and Automotive Core Tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA.
• Experience with OEM customer requirements and portals, including Ford, General Motors, or Stellantis systems.
• Experience receiving, creating, and sending IMDS submissions, plus knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Nice to have

• IATF 16949 Certified Internal Auditor qualification.
• ISO 13485 or AS9100 auditing experience.
