Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Arlington Heights, Illinois, United States; onsite

Salary: $94,700–$130,000 per year plus bonus

hirify.global Industrial Division supplies components and subsystems for on- and off-highway vehicles, including drivetrain components and electronic control systems for hybrid electric vehicles, as well as mobility products.

What you will do

• Own quality activities across the supplier base for automotive product lines.
• Support supplier selection, supplier audits, and corrective action activities.
• Support design and manufacturing during new product development.
• Lead root cause analysis of component failures using structured problem-solving methods.
• Measure supplier performance, including PPM levels, and analyze production and quality data.
• Recommend quality standards and procedures and lead audits of high-risk suppliers.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; an engineering degree is strongly preferred.
• 2–3 years of applicable quality engineering experience with exposure to electrical or electronic products.
• Knowledge of AIAG quality core tools, especially APQP and PPAP.
• Experience leading cross-functional root cause analysis using 8D, Fishbone diagrams, and 5-Why analysis.
• Experience with engineering drawings, tolerances, standards, and specifications, plus the ability to use measurement equipment.
• Experience in an IATF-certified environment is preferred.

Nice to have

• ASQ CSSBB certification.
• VDA experience.
• Hands-on experience with CMM, OGP, comparator, or Faro Arm equipment.
