Supplier Quality Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Arlington Heights, Illinois, United States

Salary: $90,000–$130,000 per year plus bonus

hirify.global Industrial Division supplies components and subsystems for on- and off-highway vehicles, including electronic control systems and drivetrain components.

What you will do

• Own quality activities across the supplier base for automotive product lines.
• Support supplier selection, audits, performance monitoring, and corrective actions.
• Lead cross-functional root cause analysis for component failures using structured problem-solving methods.
• Support design and manufacturing teams during new product development.
• Analyze quality reports and production data, including supplier PPM levels.
• Recommend quality standards and procedures and evaluate high-risk suppliers as a lead auditor.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; an engineering degree is strongly preferred.
• 2–3 years of applicable Quality Engineering experience with exposure to electrical or electronic products.
• Knowledge of AIAG quality core tools, especially APQP and PPAP.
• Experience with root cause analysis, 8D, Fishbone diagrams, and 5-Why techniques.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, tolerances, standards, and specifications.
• Experience in an IATF-certified environment is preferred; VDA experience and ASQ CSSBB certification are a plus.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with CMM, OGP, comparator, Faro Arm, and other measurement equipment.
• Experience using or navigating an ERP system.
