Workday Grants Manager (Workday)

Location: Chicago, United States; role listed for the US or Canada. Willingness to travel up to 50% is required.

Salary: $130,000–$170,000 base annually; total estimated compensation including annual incentive compensation: $149,500–$214,000.

What you will do

• Implement and configure Workday Financials and Workday Grants Management solutions.
• Analyze business requirements, write functional specifications, and translate meeting outcomes into project documentation.
• Lead Workday Grants Management design and customer confirmation sessions.
• Configure related Customer Accounts functionality, Workday Payroll Accounting, and Effort Certification.
• Design complex post-award reports and troubleshoot issues with business users.
• Build trusted relationships with university and hospital executives while mentoring junior engagement team members.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of proven experience directly implementing Workday Financials.
• 5–7 years of experience analyzing requirements, writing functional specifications, conducting tests, troubleshooting issues, and working with business users.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
• Strong analytical, communication, time-management, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to establish credibility with senior-level, financially literate university and hospital executives.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Nice to have

• Workday Grants Management certification or equivalent practical experience.
• Deep understanding of Workday Payroll Accounting and Effort Certification.
• Experience with post-award grant management or the sponsored research industry.
