Engineering Technician 1 (Automotive Shock Prototyping)

Salary: $65,093.34–$89,503.62 per year

What you will do

• Build and tear down shock products and prepare written reports supporting R&D testing.
• Use a shock dynamometer regularly to support builds and tuning.
• Collect, record, summarize, and maintain work data, communicating results to engineering.
• Lead valve code tuning and laboratory testing when needed.
• Organize and support offsite field testing with the engineering team.
• Maintain shop organization, follow safety policies, and help improve processes and efficiency.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of automotive shock absorber prototyping or similar experience.
• Ability to learn data acquisition and data analysis and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Computer competency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly for extended periods.

Nice to have

• Experience using a shock dynamometer.
• Ability to use a lathe, mill, saws, and similar shop equipment.
