Focus on integrating test hardware, developing comprehensive test results and technical reports, leading less senior engineers and technicians, and solving complex vehicle validation challenges.

Location: New Hudson, Michigan, United States; monthly travel may be required for project activities, field testing, proving grounds, or track testing.

Salary: $82,900–$134,300 annually.

What you will do

  • Plan, execute, and deliver large laboratory and in-field testing projects with lead engineers, test engineers, and technicians.
  • Oversee small and medium-sized projects led by less senior test engineers.
  • Develop and perform component, system, full-vehicle, laboratory, control-system, and product-validation testing.
  • Select and integrate data acquisition hardware, instrumentation, CAN networks, and control-system equipment.
  • Analyze test data and prepare comprehensive technical reports and presentations.
  • Develop internal test procedures, support technical growth, and mentor less experienced engineers and technicians.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Materials Science, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Automotive Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience with data acquisition systems, instrumentation, CAN networks, and data analysis processes.
  • 3+ years of experience with control-system hardware and software, including MATLAB Simulink, NI LabVIEW, Motohawk, or comparable tools.
  • Experience using CAD and PLM tools, Microsoft applications, and data analysis software such as MATLAB, DIAdem, Excel, NCode, or Python.
  • Strong automotive engineering fundamentals, hands-on vehicle experience, mechanical skills, and the ability to use common hand tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, communicate professionally, work safely, and support less senior engineers and technicians.

Nice to have

  • 5+ years of experience leading laboratory and field-testing projects.
  • Knowledge of vehicle dynamics, vehicle tuning, and test-driving maneuvers.
  • Fabrication, machining, MIG/TIG welding, assembly, or vehicle logistics experience.
  • Experience in an ISO 9001 quality environment and with MS Teams or SharePoint.
