What you will do

• Complete a four-year, 8,000-hour on-the-job training program for the Mechatronics Technician apprenticeship.
• Complete 1,000 hours of related instruction, including instructional labs at the RCAM building.
• Apply maintenance and mechatronics training in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrate progress on the job and submit regular progress reports.
• Complete the program requirements to become a Tennessee Department of Labor-certified journeyman Mechatronics Technician.

Requirements

• Submit a position statement explaining interest in and suitability for the apprenticeship.
• Meet National Career Readiness Certificate requirements: Applied Mathematics 4, Reading for Information 5, and Locating Information 4.
• Sign the Silgan Apprenticeship Agreement with NESCC/RCAMM and follow apprenticeship standards.
• Attend and pass required coursework during work hours and off-hours.
• Demonstrate accuracy, trustworthiness, a positive attitude, adaptability, and commitment to continuous improvement.
• Have strong verbal and written communication, personal leadership, and organizational skills; pass a drug screen and meet the physical requirements of the job.
