Engineering Technician III (Aerospace and Defense)

Location: Folsom, California, United States; U.S. citizenship required and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance

Salary: $38.39–$52.79 per hour

What you will do

• Lead assembly and construction of complex electronic, mechanical, and optical systems.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting, repairs, calibration, and testing of sophisticated equipment.
• Troubleshoot RF and digital circuitry and circuit card assemblies down to the failed component.
• Analyze test results and prepare technical reports and recommendations.
• Mentor junior technicians and collaborate with engineers on research and development projects.
• Develop safety protocols and standard operating procedures.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in electronics or a related field, or qualifying equivalent experience; 3+ years of technician experience, or 5+ years without a degree.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings, diagrams, schematics, and manuals.
• Advanced proficiency in troubleshooting and maintaining complex systems.
• Experience with electronics laboratory equipment, including signal generators, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, remain on foot for much of the shift, handle small components, and travel as required.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Aerospace and defense or manufacturing experience.
• AutoCAD or other 3-D CAD experience and electrical schematic capture software experience.
• Research and development or technical leadership experience.
• IR and hot-air soldering reflow experience for SMD components.
• IPC-J-STD-001 or IPC-A-610 soldering certification.
