Engineering Technician (Semiconductor)

Location: Gloucester, MA, United States; onsite weekend shift

Salary: $29.00–$39.60 per hour

What you will do

• Design, test, assemble, modify, and troubleshoot complex electrical and electromechanical systems, prototypes, fixtures, and specialized test equipment.
• Diagnose system-level and component-level problems in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, vacuum, and process systems with minimal supervision.
• Perform complex system installations, NPI activities, field upgrades, and testing on hirify.global platforms.
• Investigate issues, compile technical data, recommend product and manufacturing improvements, and prepare reports, logbooks, procedures, and documentation.
• Provide technical input to engineering and manufacturing teams and train lower-level Engineering Technicians.
• Follow safety procedures and operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and other heavy machinery as required.

Requirements

• Advanced specialized expertise in an analytical or scientific technical area and strong understanding of engineering or manufacturing processes.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems and solving complex problems with limited documentation or precedent.
• Ability to work physically demanding shifts involving extended standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, lifting, and working in tight spaces.
• Ability to distinguish colors, work around noise, use hand and power tools, and operate heavy machinery including forklifts.
• Ability to work in a clean room and use required protective equipment, including coveralls, respirators, chemical aprons, gloves, and face shields.
• Strong written, verbal, and cross-functional communication skills.
