Senior Engineering Technician

What you will do

• Design, test, check out, fabricate, modify, troubleshoot, and assemble electronic and electromechanical systems, prototypes, circuitry, tools, and test fixtures.
• Diagnose system-level and component-level problems in electrical and mechanical systems and subsystems without supervision.
• Perform complex new-system and NPI installations, field upgrades, and mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum, and process testing.
• Investigate issues, compile data, document findings, and recommend changes to improve product and manufacturing performance.
• Write and revise logbooks, test procedures, technical reports, and engineering documentation.
• Train lower-level Engineering Technicians and support Engineering with procedures, standard work, and NPI documentation.

Requirements

• Comprehensive understanding of processes, procedures, systems, and concepts within the relevant technical discipline.
• Experience troubleshooting complex electrical and mechanical systems using limited or no documentation.
• Ability to use hand and power tools and operate heavy machinery, including forklifts.
• Ability to work in physically demanding conditions involving extended standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and working in tight spaces.
• Ability to work in noisy environments and, when required, wear cleanroom and safety equipment such as coveralls, respirators, gloves, and face shields.
• Strong technical writing, communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
