Line Mechanic D

Location: Pomeroy, Ohio; must live or be willing to relocate within 30 miles of the Pomeroy Service Center.

Salary: $28.31–$29.76 per hour.

What you will do

• Assist with installing, maintaining, inspecting, rearranging, and removing overhead and underground transmission and distribution facilities.
• Assemble and install poles, towers, structures, conductors, fixtures, line materials, and associated hardware under supervision.
• Operate line trucks and auxiliary equipment, and progress to operating digger/derrick and aerial devices after completing the required apprentice training.
• Splice primary and secondary overhead wires using crimping and compression tools.
• Inspect and maintain tools, vehicles, protective equipment, work areas, and safety materials.
• Control work areas, perform pole-top and bucket-truck rescue processes as trained, maintain records, and submit reports.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• No prior experience required; line work experience or line school education is preferred.
• Valid state driver's license and a CDL beginner's permit within 60 days.
• Ability to acquire the knowledge, skills, licenses, and qualifications required for progression through the line mechanic classification.
• Recommended results on the HireVue Line Worker Virtual Job Tryout and successful completion of a physical abilities assessment.
• Must live or be willing to relocate within 30 miles of the Pomeroy Service Center in Pomeroy, Ohio.
