Heavy Duty Mechanic

Location: Ste Margarets and Eel River (Baie Ste. Anne), New Brunswick, Canada; on-site heavy equipment maintenance and repair.

Wages: CAD 24.56–29.47 per hour, paid weekly. Mandatory overtime is typically shared across the team; Sunday work is paid at twice the regular rate.

What you will do

• Perform oil and filter changes on tractors, loaders, excavators, pickup trucks, and other heavy equipment.
• Repair belts, chains, bearings, sprockets, hydraulic hoses, and related mechanical components.
• Carry out welding, metal fabrication, painting, and tire service work.
• Install and tune two-way radios and antennas.
• Diagnose and repair low-voltage DC electrical systems.
• Investigate root causes of downtime and develop solutions that improve equipment reliability and service life.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience maintaining and repairing heavy equipment or similar machinery.
• Ability to tune small engines, complete safety inspections, troubleshoot hydraulic systems, weld, and fabricate metal components.
• Strong work ethic, dependability, punctuality, and reliable attendance.
• Ability to work cooperatively with coworkers and follow instructions and feedback from a supervisor or foreman.
• Openness to learning and developing practical mechanical skills.
