Senior Controls Design Engineer

Location: San Diego, California; onsite five days a week

Salary: $112,704–$169,056 per year

What you will do

• Design turbine and driven-equipment control systems and upgrades for fielded equipment, including gas compressors, pumps, and industrial generators.
• Create electrical schematics, console and package wiring diagrams, interconnect wiring schedules, controller software, and HMI software.
• Define custom project requirements in collaboration with project application engineering and project management.
• Support manufacturing, testing, factory pre-commissioning, acceptance tests, and equipment commissioning.
• Coordinate with operations, standards engineering, regional and field engineers, and other departments to deliver projects within scope, quality, and schedule.
• Participate in HAZOPs, customer design reviews, and technical task risk assessments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• 7+ years of relevant experience, or 5+ years with a master’s degree.
• Experience with control systems such as PLC5 and RSLogix.
• Ability to apply analytical thinking, decision-making, communication, prioritization, and design engineering skills.
• Availability to work onsite five days per week in San Diego, California.
• Visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience creating electrical loop schematics, writing PLC code, and modifying HMIs.
• Experience with industrial applications or the oil and gas industry.
