Senior Controls & Automation Engineer (PLC/SCADA)

Location: Onsite five days a week at the Kansas City Plant in Kansas City, Kansas, United States; 10% internal and domestic travel required

Salary: $110,000–$165,300 per year, plus bonus if applicable and benefits

Procter & Gambl is a consumer products company operating a manufacturing plant and new production platform.

What you will do

• Design and implement safe, reliable, and efficient industrial control strategies.
• Develop and program PLC, HMI, and SCADA automation systems.
• Integrate equipment, machine-to-machine communications, and higher-level data systems across production lines.
• Analyze performance, troubleshoot root causes, and implement sustainable improvements to productivity, quality, and process capability.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, maintenance, and project teams on automation improvements.
• Create technical specifications, standards, and user guides; train plant personnel and support safety and compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or a related technical field; electrical or automation engineering is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in industrial controls and automation.
• Experience with PLCs, preferably ControlLogix, HMI/SCADA, process control, instrumentation, drives, motion control, and vision systems.
• Knowledge of industrial networks, system architecture, server infrastructure, virtualization, electrical design standards, and applicable codes.
• Experience in a production environment with change management, version control, system validation, and startup support.
• Must be able to work onsite in person at the Kansas City Plant five days per week; immigration sponsorship is not available.
