TL;DR
CNC Machinist (Mills/Lathe) - 2nd Shift Machine Shop (Aerospace) (CNC mills and lathes): Producing precision-machined aerospace and defense parts by setting up and operating CNC machines with an accent on 4–5-axis machining, blueprint interpretation, and dimensional inspection. Focus on troubleshooting machining issues, compensating for tool wear and vibration, applying GD&T standards, and maintaining production continuity across shifts.

Location: Burbank, California, United States; onsite, 2nd shift Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM. Overtime and weekend work may be required. Only US Persons will be considered where access to controlled data or information is required under ITAR.

Hourly range: $34.00–$46.50, plus a 10% second-shift differential after first-shift training is completed.

What you will do

  • Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes to produce machined parts.
  • Interpret work orders, blueprints, manufacturing orders, machining parameters, and material requirements.
  • Monitor machining operations, troubleshoot malfunctions, compensate for vibration and tool wear, and replace worn tools.
  • Measure finished workpieces with micrometers, calipers, height gages, templates, and fixtures to verify specifications and GD&T requirements.
  • Document completed work and communicate actions and next steps across shifts.
  • Maintain safety, quality, productivity, cost, and on-time delivery standards.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of CNC machining experience with mills and/or lathes, preferably in aerospace manufacturing.
  • Experience with 4–5-axis CNC lathes and/or mills.
  • Knowledge of inspection equipment, safety procedures, GD&T, cutting-tool geometry, tooling, and coordination.
  • Ability to work efficiently within process-improvement structures, communicate clearly, maintain accurate records, and demonstrate attention to detail.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • US Person eligibility may be required for controlled-data access under ITAR.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Mazak, Fadal, Toyoda, Okuma, or Hardinge machines.
  • Understanding of CNC G-code, mathematics, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
