Company

hirify.global designs and integrates primary and secondary flight control actuation systems for military aircraft, including the F-35 Lightning II and V280 Valor.

What you will do

  • Set up and operate multiple manual and CNC machine types, including lathes, mills, drills, grinders, hones, and gear-machining equipment.
  • Plan machining sequences, select or improve tooling, perform changeovers, and meet production cycle-time and part-count targets.
  • Produce and inspect precision hardware using micrometers, calipers, comparator charts, GD&T blueprints, and first-piece and in-process checks.
  • Identify defective materials, unusual conditions, blueprint or operation-sheet errors, tool wear, and machine-control problems.
  • Edit G-code and M-code, perform NC/CNC block checks, and assist programming teams with resolving machining errors.
  • Help optimize cell workflows, troubleshoot complex machining issues with programming and engineering teams, and mentor junior operators.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of CNC machining experience.
  • Ability to understand and apply verbal, written, and computer-based work instructions or training in English; a high school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Experience interpreting complex GD&T symbols and gear data charts.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments, including micrometers and calipers, plus practical shop mathematics, trigonometry, and gear geometry.
  • Ability to edit G-code and M-code at the machine control and troubleshoot setups, tool wear, and alloy-steel machining conditions independently.
  • Ability to work onsite in Torrance, California, on the second shift.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Gleason shapers, gear hobbing, gear skiving, or Fellows-style gear shaping.
  • Experience with Okuma five-axis machining centers, multi-tasking lathes, Swiss-style lathes, or automated robotic cells.
  • Experience leading 5S or Kaizen continuous-improvement initiatives.

Culture & Benefits

  • Performance-oriented culture centered on technical problem-solving, trust, and collaboration.
  • Compensation package with bonus opportunities, a generous shift differential, matching 401(k), and an employee stock purchase plan at select locations.
  • Flexible paid time off, holidays, parental leave, and relocation assistance.
  • Medical, dental, vision, life, disability, flexible spending, health savings, and employee assistance benefits.
  • Tuition assistance, mentorship, coaching, leadership development, employee resource groups, and personal growth programs.
