CNC Machinist - 2nd Shift (Aerospace)

Location: Moorpark, California, United States; onsite, 2nd shift

Salary: $60,000–$90,000 per year

What you will do

• Set up and operate CNC machining centers and lathes to produce prototype and production hardware.
• Interpret blueprints, develop machining strategies, select tooling, and create fixturing.
• Set up multi-spindle lathes with live tooling and 5-axis mills through first-part verification.
• Adjust tools, offsets, feeds, speeds, and cutting parameters for aluminum, steel, stainless steel, titanium, plastics, and other aerospace materials.
• Verify part conformance with precision inspection equipment and perform deburring.
• Revise programs and troubleshoot CNC programming and production issues on the shop floor.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with multi-axis CNC lathes and mills.
• Strong experience with complex machine setups and engineering drawings.
• Experience machining titanium, stainless steel, aluminum, plastics, and other standard aerospace materials.
• Knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading, inspection tools, and CNC troubleshooting.
• Must meet all ITAR and BATFE background requirements.

Nice to have

• At least 5 years of experience running manual mills and lathes with little to no supervision.
• Experience with CNC Swiss-type screw machines.
• Experience with ESPRIT or Mastercam programming software.
• Prior lead experience.
