What you will do
- Complete CNC lathe setups, tooling changes, workholding adjustments, and initial part prove-outs.
- Review and edit G-code and M-code programs to optimize tool paths, speeds, feeds, and cycle times.
- Operate CNC lathes using Fanuc, Haas, and Okuma control platforms.
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, and close-tolerance requirements.
- Perform first-piece and in-process dimensional inspections using precision measuring tools.
- Troubleshoot setup issues, tool wear, and machine performance variations while following shop safety procedures.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC lathes in a precision manufacturing or machine shop environment.
- Strong familiarity with Fanuc controls; Haas or Okuma experience is beneficial.
- Ability to read and edit G-code and adjust tool and work coordinate offsets at the machine control.
- Strong blueprint-reading skills, shop math, mechanical aptitude, and attention to precision.
- Personal standard measuring tools are required, including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and basic hand tools.
- Dependability, punctuality, and professional references are expected.
