Field Application Engineer - High Speed Interconnects (Optical Interconnects)

Location: Remote within the United States; up to 15% domestic and international travel

Salary: $145,676–$178,049 per year, including base pay and variable incentive pay if eligible.

What you will do

• Serve as the technical interface between hirify.global and customers for optical fiber, expanded beam optics, copper, and high-speed interconnect solutions.
• Support customer design-in activities for fiber-optic connectivity, optical transport, and high-speed communication systems.
• Advise customers, sales teams, and channel partners on product selection, system integration, application fit, and performance optimization.
• Lead technical discussions, demonstrations, evaluations, qualification activities, and troubleshooting for customer applications.
• Develop test plans, analyze validation results, and translate customer requirements into application guidance and product recommendations.
• Collaborate with product development, R&D, manufacturing, quality, and marketing teams while contributing to technical documentation, training materials, and product direction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher, completed and verified before the start date.
• At least three years of experience in customer-facing technical, applications engineering, systems engineering, or product support.
• At least two years of experience with high-speed interconnect technologies, including optical fiber and/or copper connectivity.
• Current, valid driver’s license.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.
• Strong communication, presentation, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Degree in electrical, mechanical, or optical engineering, physics, or a related technical field.
• Five or more years of experience in optical connectivity for communications systems.
• Experience with data center architecture, networking, AI infrastructure, high-performance computing, optical test equipment, and performance characterization.
• Experience in optical process engineering, qualification, validation, manufacturing transfer, or technical training.
