Heavy Equipment Operator-Scrapers

What you will do

• Operate scrapers and other power construction equipment to excavate, move, and grade earth.
• Operate equipment during normal, night, adverse-weather, and emergency conditions.
• Control machine attachments, including blades, buckets, scrapers, and swing booms.
• Monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure equipment is working properly.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and maintain good housekeeping in the cab and work area.
• Complete timecards and required paperwork while following verbal and written instructions.

Requirements

• Arizona region operators must join and maintain local operators' union membership.
• Operate equipment safely and wear all required safety equipment; report unsafe conditions.
• Pass a pre-employment drug screen and alcohol test and remain able to operate equipment safely.
• Work extended hours, nights, weekends, temperature extremes, and changing job-site conditions as required.
• Climb into and out of equipment independently, walk on uneven surfaces, and repeatedly twist, stoop, bend, and exert force.
• Work independently and collaboratively, maintain dependable attendance, and understand required safety, employment, and job paperwork.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of CAT scrapers from the 613 up to, but not including, the 637.
• Trimble GPS knowledge.
• Operator apprentice experience.
