Heavy Equipment Operator (Manufacturing)

Location: Bergen, NY / Rochester, NY, United States; onsite at a mulch and soil manufacturing facility

Salary: Typically starts at $23.75 per hour, paid weekly

What you will do

• Prepare organic mixes and supply production with a continuous flow of material.
• Operate trucks, front-end loaders, dozers, graders, compactors, snowblowers, and other heavy equipment safely.
• Push and relocate material piles to maintain segregation.
• Monitor stockpiles for excessive heat, turn piles, extinguish small fires, and apply the appropriate amount of water.
• Clean, maintain, and secure equipment according to company procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least one year of experience using medium or heavy equipment.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment safely.
• Ability to work in dusty, dirty conditions and in heat, cold, and other weather elements.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb in and out of equipment, and sit for extended periods.
